Generally
FortiClient serves as an alternative to the Cisco AnyConnect VPN, but is not compatible with older versions of MacOS.
If you are using an older version of MacOS on your device, please follow these instructions to install a compatible VPN program: CISCO AnyConnect
Download
The installation file can be downloaded from the following link:
https://ssl-vpn.uni-ak.ac.at:10443
A login window will appear, enter your personal number or matriculation number and the associated password and click on “Login”.

Afterwards click on “Download FortiClient” and select your operating system.

Installation on Windows
Click on “Save File”

Start the installation file with a double click, this is usually located in the “Downloads” folder

Configuration
After installation, click the arrow in the lower right corner of the taskbar and click the green FortiClient icon and then click “Open FortiClient Console”

Click on “I Accept“



LOGIN
Login takes place via the same symbol with the personal or matriculation number and the associated password.

Installation on MAC
Click on “Datei speichern” or “Save File“

This file appears in the Downloads folder. Please install

Configuration
After the installation, click on the FortiClient symbol in the upper right corner of the bar and click on “Open FortiClient”.




LOGIN
