ownCloudX – ownCloud client setup (EN)

In the following article you will find instructions on how to connect to your ownCloud via the ownCloud client. To log in, you only need your p-number or, in the case of students, the matriculation number and the password for your university account.

The client can be downloaded from the following link: https://owncloud.com/desktop-app/

Installation and configuration #

After the installation, open the ownCloud client and enter “https://cloud.uni-ak.ac.at” in the “Server address” field.

With a click on “Next” you will be forwarded to the login mask of the base Angewandte.

Now log in with your p-number or, as a student, with your s (matriculation) number or your e-mail address and the corresponding password.

The following message then appears in your standard browser (Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer, Safari, etc.):

Now click on “Authorize” to connect the client to Owncloud.

After authorization, you will see the following message:

Your client is now connected to Owncloud and you can use this service.

Reinstall #

Please note that a new output folder is automatically created for the synchronized files and folders during a new install.

Here you can choose whether you want to use the same folder as before the uninstall or create a new one.

If you choose the one that already exists, you can choose it. However, please note that they contain the existing folders.

There are no additional steps involved in selecting a new folder.
