Please note the following #
- The USB-stick must be formatted in FAT32 or FAT format
- The USB-stick must be connected to the corridor printer only after the registration
- The USB-port is on the right side of the printer under the screen
Using the printer #
- Register at the hallway printer with your card or with your employee or matriculation number
- Only then connect the USB stick to the printer on the right side below the screen
- A window will then open on the screen, select “Document from ext. Print memory”
- You can now select the desired document from the list and print it out using the blue button
If your USB stick is not formatted in FAT32 format, please follow these steps
Formatting the USB stick on Windows #
- Connect the USB stick to your computer
- If necessary, make a backup of the contents of the USB stick, since formatting will delete all files on the stick
- In File Explorer, right click on the USB stick -> “Format”
- Select “FAT32 (default)” for file system
- Then click on “Start”
- You can then copy the files you want to print onto the stick.
Formatting the USB stick on macOS #
- Connect the USB stick to your computer
- If necessary, make a backup of the contents of the USB stick, since formatting will delete all files on the stick
- Open Disk Utility from either Applications in the Utilities folder or from Spotlight search
- Select the USB stick on the left and then select “Delete” at the top
- Then select “MS-DOS file system (FAT)” under “Format”.
- Finally click on “Delete”
- You can then copy the files you want to print onto the stick.
